Hi, I’m Carolyn and I’m a 21 year old female Singaporean that takes photos for a living. You want to know more about me? Read on.
Where do I begin? Well, I have a diploma; it’s just not in an arts related course. To be exact, it’s in Biotechnology. From Singapore Polytechnic, if you want to go into specifics.
When and how did I first start going into photography as a profession? Well, honestly it was a happy accident. It’s quite a funny story really; back when I dabbled in HTML and CSS, I did the web design for the Youth Entrepreneurship Symposium in 2010. When it was found that there was no photographer for the event, I plucked out the point and shoot I got from my 18th birthday and yeah, that’s how it all started. I took a break in 2011 in lieu of my FYP before returning to photography after my graduation in 2012.
Any other hobbies or interests? Mine’s a funny combination. Apart from photography, I’m also a certified kali instructor. What’s kali? It’s a Filipino martial art that involves swords and other pointy things. I also do beading whenever I’m particularly patient, doodle whenever the fancy strikes me, write when the inspiration well is full, sing when I’m bored and when all else fails, disturb my cats (that's one of them staring at you on this page by the way). Of course there’s the cliched hobbies like reading and sleeping, but that’s not as fun to read about, isn’t it?
